Giving Back to our Members and the Pet Community
As a not-for-profit organization, we continually reinvest in our members and the broader pet community. The WPA Good Works program was established to help fund organizations that are working for the good of pets and the pet industry as a whole, with over $4 million donated in the last decade.
- The Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council (PIJAC) which aims to promote, foster and ensure positive and healthy pet ownership through advocacy and legislation.
- Human Animal Bond Research Institute (HABRI), a non-profit research and education organization that is gathering, funding and sharing scientific research to demonstrate the positive health impacts of companion animals.
- Pets in the Classroom is an educational grant program that provides financial support to teachers to purchase and maintain small animals in the classroom.
- Project Piaba, which studies and fosters an environmentally and socially beneficial home-aquarium fish trade
